1. Obaseki Dumps APC For Another Party

Governor Godwin Obaseki has finally dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Naija News can authoritatively report that the governor announced this on Tuesday after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari’s Chief of Staff at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

2. JAMB Announces Cut-Off Marks For 2020 Admission

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has released its resolutions on the admission requirement into higher institutions for the 2020 academic session.

Naija News understands that the tertiary admission body on Tuesday, June 16 held a digital meeting to finalize on general minimum cut off marks required of admission seekers to gain admission into universities, polytechnics and colleges, among other agendas.

3. Gov. Sanwo-Olu Takes Fresh Decision On Opening Of Worship Centres In Lagos State

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has announced the suspension of the planned reopening of worship centres in Lagos State till further notice.

The fresh decision was made known on Tuesday, 16th June.

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has lamented the rising debt profile of Nigeria and the continued borrowing by the federal government.

5. Coronavirus: NCDC Confirms 490 New Cases

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) on Tuesday evening confirmed 490 new cases of coronavirus infection in Nigeria.

This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 17148, while 5623 patients have recovered from the virus, and 455 deaths have been recorded.

The Court of Appeal In Abuja has upheld the suspension of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Adams Oshiomhole.

Recall that six members of the Edo State chapter of the party had filed a suit before the FCT High Court on March seeking for Oshiomhole’s suspension from office.

7. Army General Dismissed From Service Over Stolen N400m

Major General Hakeem Otiki, the former General Officer Commanding (GOC) 8 Division, Sokoto has been dismissed from service by a military court martial.

8. FG Gives Fresh Conditions For Schools To Re-Open In Nigeria

As the gradual easing of the coronavirus lockdown continues to take effect in different sectors of the economy, the federal government has unveiled provisions and guidelines that must be in place before schools can be re-opened.

The Minister of State for Education, Hon. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba announced the conditions in Abuja on Tuesday at the 2020 Policy Meeting on Admissions to Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board(JAMB).

9. APC Names Ajimobi Acting National Chairman

The National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nigeria’s ruling party, has named Abiola Ajimobi who is reportedly sick as its acting National Chairman.

Naija News reports that the decision of the APC NWC comes after the affirmation of the suspension of its National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole by the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital earlier on Tuesday.

10. Scores Killed As Military Bombs Bandits’ Camp In Katsina State

The defence headquarters has revealed that several bandits have been killed after an airstrike by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on Monday in Katsina State.

The bombing operation was carried out after intelligence reports showed that some huts in the area were been used by the armed bandits to carry out their operations.
