Resident Doctors Suspend Five-day Warning Strike, Resume Work

The Federal Government of Nigeria has directed all medical health practitioners experts to resume back to work even as the negotiations with the aggrieved doctor failed.

Naija News understands that the country’s Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire, gave the directives even as the striking doctors vowed to National Association of Resident Doctors, NARD.

The National President of NARD, Dr Aliyu Socumba who angrily stormed out of the negotiation table berated both the Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire and the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige who led the negotiating team of the federal government.

Socumba angrily revealed that he will not return to the negotiating table as their demands have not been met. He also stated doctors would only suspend the ongoing action within 24 hours if the government bring something tangible on the table.

Naija News recalls that the aggrieved doctor kick-started a nationwide indefinite strike on Monday over poor health structure in Nigeria.
