Nigerians have made several funny remarks over the latest action of Governor Godwin Obaseki.

Obaseki while announcing his decisions berated his political godfather, Adams Oshiomhole. He said that his godfather who doesn’t have the certificate was talking about inconsistency in his (Obaseki) certificate. He further asked a rhetorical question about how someone without a certificate understands the word inconsistency.

The statement was made after Obaseki met with President Muhammadu Buhari. However, one of those who reacted to his alleged defection used football terminology.

Below are some reactions

One of a key political figure who reacted to the development is Hassan Ibrahim Dakawanmbo, he tweeted: “I Support my brother and friend, Governor Godwin Obaseki for the second term. One good turn deserves another.”

@alowonlemi ” No matter how stubborn a tenant is…(s) he will still leave the house for his/ her landlord”

@thony_yhl: “Governor Obaseki left In talks for Transfer move”

Some other praised the Edo state governor for taking a bold step by dump the ruling All progressive congress party:

@Ivycarina: “This is good news, hopefully, PDP will accept him should he make the move of joining them.”

@TemiBeedie: “You can take that to the bank. Edo state is sealed. 4+4=8”

@DenisNwosu: “Enough of all these thuggery and godfatherism in our polity. The likes of Oshiomole in every state, should be shown where to sit, and not vice versa! Good move.”

@RealKingesteem: ” APC is out of our state, clueless party”

@yunusdayak: “This is good and I like the trend. This will serve as a test for good performance and governance. If he performs well, it’s high time EDO people should acknowledge his performance irrespective of power to be. But if he does otherwise, He will get his reward. Good luck to Edoans”.

gHowever, Nigeria’s opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has reacted to the development. The PDP in a tweet by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan said it is keenly watching developments in Edo State.
