The National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kola Ologbondiyan has spoken with the Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki on Tuesday.

The move is coming after Governor Obaseki disclosed that he has officially resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC).

It will be recalled Obaseki who announced on Tuesday that he has left the APC, said he will be seeking a second term in office on another platform. He, however, did not disclose the new party he will join.

But as reactions continue to trail the Governor’s decision and stakeholders watch out for his next move, Ologbondiyan has disclosed that he has spoken to Obaseki.

The PDP spokesperson disclosed this in a statement on Twitter where he wrote: “I just spoke with
@GovernorObaseki. I commended his bold and courageous decision to abandon the fizzling Congress. The time has come for all democrats to rally together and save our nation from the failures
@OfficialAPCNg.”

Meanwhile, before dumping the APC, Governor Obaseki had earlier been disqualified from contesting the party’s governorship primaries where a flagbearer is expected to emerge for the September 2020 governorship election in the state.
