Supreme Court Has Failed Nigerians - PDP Reacts As Tinubu Floors Atiku In Court

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in Zamfara State, Ibrahim Danbuba has noted that the opposition party in the state, the All Progressives Congress does not have any reason to condemn the PDP-led administration in the state.

Danbuba while speaking during an interview in Gusau, the state capital said since the return of Nigeria to democracy in 1999, PDP has never ruled the state.

He further stated that the state has been governed by political leaders under the ANPP and APC platform.

The PDP chieftain added that the APC-led government since 1999 has been marginalizing members of the party and treating them as second class citizens in their own state.

“When APC was on board, PDP members hardly challenge or criticize their policies and programs. Most people even believed that Zamfara is a one-party state monitored by the almighty APC then”.

“Since PDP climbed to power through divine intervention, the APC members have always been criticizing the present administration even working seriously with repentant armed bandits for the return of terror attacks in the state”

Danbuba accused the opposition of attacking the PDP-led government because of their desire to hold tight to power in the state.

He described former Governor Abdulaziz Yari and his group as stubborn grasshoppers who love power and want to die on power.

According to him, the APC has been a thorn in the flesh of the PDP-led administration in the state, pointing out that APC members have always been making utterances that are undemocratic in nature and capable of inciting public disturbances in the state.

“When they held Local Government council elections in the state, it was APC affairs, even when the constitution stipulated that all the registered political parties should go into the contest but APC sidelined other political parties in the state”

Danbuba explained what happened during the administration of APC was not a democracy but autocracy, stressing that many innocent citizens of the state lost their lives and property to armed bandits and notorious kidnappers.

He noted that the world was aware during Yari’s tenure that Zamfara State was recognized as the colony of banditry and terror attacks in the whole of Africa,

He revealed that commerce totally collapsed due to the influence of terror attacks in every corner of the state.

He, therefore, advised former Governor, Abdul Aziz Yari and his followers to bury their faces in shame, rather than to remind Nigerians of their incapacitated administration.
