The immediate past  Kwara State Governor,  Abdulfatah Ahmed has finally spoken up on the alleged accusation of stealing over one point eight billion naira during his tenure as the highest public office holder in the state.

Ahmed, speaking via his former aid  Abdulwahab Oba, berated the present Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Yakubu Danladi for playing politics with state matters and not getting his fact right with regards to the money for the construction of the road linking  Kaiama and Baruten Local Government Area of the state.

Ahmed revealed that the contract was awarded paid for before leaving the office as the governor. Ahmed further advised to stop playing political tricks with public funds  and do the need full as four years is short

“What the speaker has said is political to please his people. We have done the needful when we were in government. The present administration should do the needful by serving the people. It should face the future and do the needful because .”

Naija News recalls that the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Yakubu Danladi, during the one-year celebration of the 9th Assembly in the states berated the immediate past governor of the state, Abdulfatah Ahmed, of siphoning N1.8b meant for the construction of the road linking  Kaiama and Baruten Local Government Area of the state.

Danladi led state Assembly has earlier dragged the former governor and his team over failed N3.9 billion Light Up Kwara project contract which was commissioned in 2018
