DSS Reveals Those Behind Vicious Attacks in South East

While a panel set up by the leadership of the Nigeria Police sets to discuss the unpleasant occurrence at the Presidential Villa a few days ago, an official of the Department of State Services, DSS, has been accused of the shooting on President Muhammadu Buhari’s personal assistant.

It could be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari’s family, including his wife, Aisha Buhari and her children had stormed Sabiu Yusuf’s apartment on Thursday, June 11 to request that he go for self-isolation as recommended by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, following his trip from Lagos State.

Naija News understands that Aisha and her children, Zahra, Halima and Yusuf, including other aides had challenged Yusuf over the fear that he might have contracted Coronavirus from his visit to Lagos.

Yusuf, however, snubbed Aisha Buhari’s demand to be isolated. After so much argument, reports had it that the First Lady’s ADC, in his attempt to apprehend Yusuf released gunshots on the premises, leaving Yusuf with no choice but to run for his dear life.

Naija News understands that the president’s aide ran into Mamman Daura’s house, another nephew to President Buhari.

However, according to a report by the PUNCH, Aisha Buhari’s ADC, Usman Shugaba, has denied being responsible for the gunshot, noting that it was carried out by an official of the DSS.

According to him, ‘”Tunde’s security aide, not first lady’s ADC, fired shot”.

Also, a top aide to the first lady revealed to newsmen that the shot was made by one of the Yusuf’s security aides and not from Aisha’s side.

He said, “It was unfortunate that the police, acting under the instruction of Buhari’s nephew, Mamman Daura, had decided to take sides with Yusuf (Tunde) and feed lies to the public.”

“Madam (Aisha) never asked her aides to shoot Yusuf. It was Yusuf’s security men that were shooting into the air when madam’s ADC attempted to remove him from the Villa,” the anonymous aide noted.

He added, “If the police investigate thoroughly, they will discover that the bullets came from the gun of one of Yusuf’s security aides. Unfortunately, the public is being fed with lies. The police IG is also bowing to pressure from Mamman Daura who is the brother to Tunde’s late mum.

“Also, Yusuf met with Maikanti Baru, the former GMD of NNPC that died of Covid-19. Tunde’s wife is pregnant but it is not true that he went to visit his wife. He went to visit Baru and that is why we said he should self-isolate.”

Meanwhile, the Northern Elders Forum (NEF) has berated President Muhammadu Buhari and State Governors over the rising spate of insecurity in the northern part of Nigeria, Naija News reports.
