COVID-19: Pastor Tunde Bakare Reveals When Church Might Open

Pastor Tunde Bakare, the General Overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church formerly known as Latter Rain Assembly, has revealed that his church will not open until later this year.

Speaking at the second edition of the virtual 3Gz session of the CGCC Legacy Youth Fellowship, Pastor Bakare noted that the government cannot shut the church, it can only shut a building.

He disclosed that it was predicted that a lot of COVID-19 cases are likely to be recorded in the State and Nigeria during a meeting with the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and his team.

Pastor Bakare fixed September or the end of the year as possible dates for the Citadel Global Community Church to reopen.

“We are not opening till the coast is clear,” he said.

Naija News reports that the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) on Saturday, June 13 reported five hundred and one confirmed new cases of Coronavirus pandemic in Nigeria.

The NCDC confirmed the new cases on Saturday night at about 11:42 pm on its verified official account on the microblogging site, Twitter.

This brings the overall confirmed cases of the novel virus in Nigeria to 15682 with records of 5101 patients discharged, while 407 reportedly died.
