NCDC Reports 627 New Cases Of COVID-19

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has reported Six hundred and twenty-seven confirmed new cases of Coronavirus pandemic in Nigeria.

The NCDC on Friday, June 12 confirmed the new cases on its official Twitter account. This brings the overall confirmed cases of the dreadful disease in Nigeria to 15181 with records of 4891 patients discharged, while 399 has reportedly died of the novel virus.

The new cases include 229 in Lagos, FCT-65, Abia-54, Borno-42, Oyo-35, Rivers-28, Edo-28, Gombe-27, Ogun-21, Plateau-18, Delta-18, Bauchi-10, Kaduna-10, Benue-9, Ondo-8, Kwara-6, Nasarawa-4, Enugu-4, Sokoto-3, Niger-3, Kebbi-3, Yobe-1, Kano-1.

There Is A New Strain Of COVID-19 In Nigeria – Osagie

Osagie Ehanire, Nigeria’s Health Minister has noted that there is a possibility of a new strain of COVID-19 in the country.

Since the index case was recorded in February, when an Italian man tested positive to coronavirus in Lagos, the figures have continued to grow steadily.

As at yesterday, the country already recorded 14,554 confirmed cases of COVID-19.

Out of that number over 4000 patients had been discharged and 387 people had died.

Lagos Discharges 90 Coronavirus Patients, Total Now 1,137

The Lagos State Government led by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has announced the discharge of ninety coronavirus patients after testing negative twice for the virus, bringing the number of discharged COVID-19 patients in Lagos to 1,137.

Naija News reports that the State Ministry of Health disclosed this in a statement on Friday, adding that the 90 COVID-19 patients were discharged after testing negative twice for the virus.

According to the statement, the patients are 30 females and 60 males. With this development, 1,137 patients have been discharged in the State.
