Breaking: APC Appeals Committee Takes Decision On Obaseki’s Disqualification

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Appeals Committee has affirmed the decision to disqualify Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki from the party’s governorship primaries ahead of Edo 2020 election.

Naija News reports that the APC Appeals Committee led by Dr Abubakar Fari presented its report to the APC National Working Committee on Saturday, where it cited discrepancies in the dates on Obaseki’s certificate obtained from the University of Ibadan.

Giving reasons for the Committee’s decision, Fari said, “It is inconceivable that the same University will award two certificates with separate dates for the same graduate.

“We also find it difficult to vouch for the authenticity of his NYSC certificate, there is no indication as to where he served.

“We find that he should be disqualified.”

Meanwhile, members of the Appeal Committee include; Dr. Abubakar Fari (Chairman), Prof. Sadeeque Abba, Barr. Gbenga Olubajo, Mohammed Idris, Esther Bepeh and Barr. Daniel Bwala (Secretary).
