Young Men Film Themselves As They Gang Rape Lady

A new disturbing video has emerged online in which a lady was being raped, while some other young men were filming the act.

In the video, the lady who looked helpless was held down by one of the men, while another raped her.

As at the time this report was filed, it isn’t yet sure where the incidence occurred.

The young men apparently spoke in another language different from English, but rumours have it that the language is from the northern part of Nigeria.

In the last couple of weeks, the spate of rape incidences seems to have increased.

It could be recalled that Uwaila Vera Omozuwa was reportedly raped while studying inside a Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, in Benin, the capital city of Edo State.

While various public outcry and agitations against the act were still ongoing, another young lady, simply known as Barakat, was said to have been raped and killed by her rapist in her home in Ibadan.

In a bid to end this evil act, President Muhammadu Buhari led government has announced that it has set up a Gender-Based Violence Management Committee, which would look into these incidences and develop better ways of addressing the issue and curtail the menace.

Naija News also reported that the Nigerian lawmakers are working out plans to enact critical legislation to protect victims of rape against any form of stigmatization in the country.

The bill, titled ‘Rape and Insurgency Victims Stigmatization (Prohibition) Bill 2019’, scaled second reading during Wednesday’s plenary session.

When this bill is passed, it would provide for the prosecution and punishment of any person or group of persons who stigmatizes such victims.
