Former Presidential candidate and publisher of Ovation International magazine, Dele Momodu has described Ghana as a fortunate country during the military rule.

The renowned Nigerian journalist during an interview a few moments ago, Nigeria was not as fortunate as Ghana during the military rule, noting that Ghana was lucky to have a dictator leader who had a clear vision as to the direction to go.

Chief Momodu when asked to compare Ghana’s leadership, where the country is getting it right that Nigeria needs to follow suit, said that former Ghanaian military leader, Lt Jerry John Rawlings, better known as ‘Junior Jesus’ took leadership of the country with a precise vision and laid a foundation that transformed the country even though it took a long time.

According to him, Lieutenant Rawlings did what he could do to bring out Ghana which he described as a then ‘poverty stinking’ country to a nation that now attracts investors.

He noted that though Ghana has its ethnicity issues but are more unified due to the fact that they have a common language, unlike Nigeria where every region is divided.

Chief Dele revealed further that politics in Ghana is like a religion, that the moment a child is born his family either belongs to National Democratic Congress (NDC) or New Patriotic Party (NPP).

“Unlike Nigeria when a person can wake up in the morning as a member of APC and rest to bed in the evening as a member of PDP,” he noted.

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari while enlisting achievements in his administration during the nationwide broadcast to commemorate the June 12 Democracy Day described Nigeria as one of theĀ top ten most improved economiesĀ in the world, in terms of ease of doing business, for the 2nd time in 3 years.
