Police Arrest 32-Year-Old Man For Raping 40 Women In One Year

A 32-year-old man accused of raping 40 women including an 80-year-old woman within a single year has been arrested by the Kano State Police Command.

It was gathered that luck ran out on the man identified as Muhammad Alfa when he attempted to carry out another of his evil acts in a house at Kwanar Dangora town in Kano.

Naija News understands Alfa had gained access to the house but before he could execute his plans, the mother of the house discovered him and raised an alarm.

The suspect fled but was arrested by neighbours who heard the woman’s cry for help and was handed over to the police.

The suspect’s arrest has been confirmed by the spokesman of the Kano Police Command, DSP Abdullahi Haruna, in a statement on Wednesday in Kano.

According to Haruna, the suspect was arrested on June 10, at about 2:00 a.m. when he attempted to rape some victims at a house at Kwanar Dangora town in Kano and has already confessed to his crimes.

The Police added that the man popularly known as “Mai Siket” had become so feared in the area that some of his victims and other residents referred to him as an evil spirit.

“The suspect trespassed into a house at Kwanar Dangora town, and entered the children’s bedroom, in the process the mother of the kids caught him and alerted the neighbours.

“The suspect ran away but was caught by neighbours and handed over to the police,” Haruna said.

Haruna said the Kano Commissioner of Police, Mr Habu Ahmad, had ordered the suspect to be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for investigation and will be charged to court after investigation.
