More Troubles For Atiku As PDP Elders Make New Demand Amid Tussle With Wike

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has condemned the gruesome murder of many villagers during a Boko Haram attack on some communities in Borno State.

It will be recalled as previously reported by Naija News that not less than 69 persons were reported killed in Borno State by Boko Haram terrorists who stormed some communities in Borno state on Tuesday afternoon.

The terrorists struck at Foduma Kolomaiya village, 11 kilometres away from Gazaure town of Gubio Local Government Area of Borno State.

Gubio itself is 96 kilometres away from Maiduguri the state capital.

The insurgents who arrived in vehicles and on motorcycles also burnt the village to the ground as they operated for about two hours on Tuesday.

The terrorists shot sporadically into the air, killed about 300 animals, and rustled another 1,200 cattle and camels.

Reacting to the attack and loss of lives, Atiku while commiserating with the victims of the attack, called for the security apparatus in Nigeria to be strengthened to protect the citizens and residents of the country.

He wrote: “I am saddened by the despicable massacre of innocent Nigerians in Faduma Kolomdi in Borno state. There’s a compelling need to step up security and intelligence in the Northeast which is still an endemic region of terrorism. My deepest condolences to the families of the dead.”

“Also, the killing of yet more persons by bandits in Faskari LGA of Katsina State brings to the fore the need for states and regions to have a security arrangement that suits their local needs. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of those who lost loved ones.”
