Breaking: Smart Adeyemi Floors Dino Melaye At Kogi West Senatorial Tribunal

The tribunal hearing the dispute arising from the outcome of the Kogi West senatorial District election has given its verdict in favour of Senator Smart Adeyemi.

The tribunal in its ruling on Wednesday, dismissed the petition by Dino Melaye and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The three judges of the tribunal were unanimous that the petitioners failed to prove their case.

It will be recalled Melaye and the PDP challenged the result of the election declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) which saw Smart Adeyemi of the All Progressive Congress (APC) emerge as Senator representing the Kogi West constituency.

Naija News recalls the APC candidate was declared the winner of the Kogi west senatorial election which held on Saturday, 30th November 2019.

The returning officer of the election Olayinde Lawal declared Adeyemi polled 88,373 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Dino Melaye of the PDP who got 62,133 votes.
