President Muhammadu Buhari has sent the name of Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem to the Senate for confirmation as the new President of the Court of Appeal.

2. COVID-19: Kogi Government Says Reported Case By NCDC Was Only Stung By A Bee

The Kogi State government has once again insisted that the state is free on coronavirus infection.

This is as the government on Monday noted that the COVID-19 case announced as the index case in the state by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in May was only a complication arising from a bee sting.

President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government has declared Friday, June 12, as public holiday to mark this year’s Democracy Day Celebration.

The Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola, made the declaration in a statement on Monday signed by the permanent secretary in the ministry, Georgina Ehuriah.

The names of ten soldiers and one policeman have been removed from the charge sheet at the resumed hearing of the Wadume kidnap case.

The development is coming after the Office of the Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami took over the case of the prosecution.

Nigeria’s ex-Aviation Minister, Senator Stella Oduah has won the legal battle against the country’s main anti-graft agency as the federal court gave it final verdict on the forfeiture of her properties.

Giving the final verdict and reversal of an earlier order it made on the interim forfeiture on October 18, 2019, Justice Inyang Ekwo, held that the EFCC failed to establish a link between the assets and the ex-Minister.

Atiku Abubakar, former Vice President and Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 election, will contest the 2023 presidential election.
