Hamza Al-Mustapha, the Chief Security Officer to former Nigerian military leader, Sani Abacha has hailed the impact of his former boss on Nigeria.

According to Al-Mustapha, Abacha meant well for the country and did all within his power to set the country on the right track.

This he said on Monday while remembering the former military ruler who died in office 22 years ago.

Al-Mustapha said the contributions made by Abacha can never be forgotten “in the annals of history and generations yet unborn”.

He listed some of the achievements of the Abacha regime to include raising the nation’s foreign reserve from $200 million to $900 billion.

He highlighted that the dollar was sold at N85 and there was no inflation despite all the problems and challenges confronting the country during the Abacha regime.

“Only God will reward General Sani Abacha for the laudable initiative he made in transforming the country to an enviable height,” he said.

Meanwhile, Naija News recalls the Federal Government of Nigeria under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday, May 4 received the three-hundred-and-twelve-million dollars ($312m) Abacha loot from the United States.
