34 new cases of the coronavirus disease have been confirmed in Abuja by the Federal Capital Territory administration.

The FCTA also announced that 2 patients have been discharged from their treatment facilities after recovering from the infection.

The FCTA made the announcement in a tweet via its Twitter account on Tuesday.

The tweet reads “34 NEW CASES, 2 NEW DISCHARGED IN THE FCT

“Summary of COVID19FCT as at June 8th, 2020.

“Total number of confirmed cases: 986

“Total number of active cases: 709

“254 patients have been discharged with 23 deaths recorded.

“Residents are urged to take preventive measures seriously.”

Meanwhile, the latest figures announced by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) on Monday evening confirmed that Nigeria now has a total of 12,801 COVID-19 cases.
