Manchester United icon Ryan Giggs has fought off fierce competition from other football legends to be named the best Premier League player ever.

The 46-year-old Welshman enjoyed a prolific football career and spent 24 years at Old Trafford.

And the former United winger has won 13 amazing Premier League titles, two champion leagues, four FA cups and three League cups with the Red Devils.

The Daily Mirror compiled the rankings of the top 10 Premier League players of all time and placed Giggs at the top of the stack.

According to the newspaper, the Giggs Premier League trophy harvest is “an achievement [which] deserves a place at the table of all-time football.”

The Mirror added that the legendary reputation of the Wales boss is a “legitimate reward for a player synonymous with the dominating success of Manchester United”.

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry, who is widely regarded as one of the best strikers of all time, finished behind Giggs in the rankings.

The Mirror said the 42-year-old Frenchman cemented his legacy as the Gunners’ best player ever after eight years at the club.

And the newspaper also suggested that Henry could arguably be considered the “best foreign import of all time to strut in the Premier League.”

The closing of the leading trio is none other than the former US superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo, with The Mirror claiming that his “development into one of the greatest modern players alongside Lionel Messi has been forged in the Premier League. ”

The accomplishments and impact of the 35-year-old Juventus superstar in England “gave him legendary status for eternity at Old Trafford,” the publication said.
