Atiku Abubakar, former Vice President and Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 election, will contest the 2023 presidential election.
This was made known by one of the sons of the former vice-president, Adamu Abubakar.
Speaking while presenting the one-year score card of his ministry as the Commissioner for Works and Energy in Adamawa State, Adamu said his father will run for president again in 2023.
He said: “Personally, I don’t see anything wrong with my father contesting for the presidency.
“In 2023, my father will be aspiring to the number one office in the land because he has been an astute, strategic, master politician for almost four decades.”
Naija News reports that Atiku contested the last presidential election against President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Buhari polled 15,191,847 votes, while Atiku got 11,262,978 votes.
