Nigerian media personality, Toke Makinwa has dropped fresh words of inspiration for her fans and followers.

The controversial but popular OAP in a motivational message on her Twitter account on Thursday morning, warned on the dangers of emotional and intellectual bankruptcy.

According to her, not having money in your pocket is not a crime but to have nothing ‘upstairs’ is an issue no amount of money or advice can fix.

She said: “Being poor in spirit is the worst thing that can happen to anyone, you can be poor in pocket, it is not a crime and money can fix that but if yo spirit/mind is poor? ….. The thought alone makes me sad, no amount of money/advice/help will fix that.”

Speaking further on romantic relationships, Makinwa warned about the dangers of getting hooked up with a person who has a poor mentality about life, adding that such actions can be a dream killer.

“May you not end up having to do this thing called life with someone with a poor mentality, life is hard as it is, having to mentally battle with someone who thinks from a scarce mind even when there’s abundance of wealth, health and spirit around them is prison.”

But the OAP added that such warnings are not limited to romantic relationships alone but having a right mentality about things should include work, business, school and other forms of life activities.

“You want to be around the “yes you can do it, your dream is too small, think bigger, go for it” not the “here’s why it won’t work all the time” mind, choose your path carefully.”

“Apply the same logic you apply to business, your mental health, choosing the right course etc to marriage. Above all the emotions, it is a partnership and though bad times come (even in business it happens), you want to be sure you are in the right boat and everyone is rowing.”
