Human rights activist and a former Senator, Shehu Sani has reacted to comments by Nigerians against the former Military Governor of Kaduna State, Col. Abubakar Dangiwa.

Naija News reports that Col Dangiwa wrote an open letter to President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday, accusing the president of giving preference to some tribes over others in Nigeria.

Dangiwa noted in the letter which copy was made available to Naija News that the enthusiasm that is supposed to greet the president’s celebration of his 5th year in office is not shared by many Nigerians because they are not satisfied with his leadership.

He advised the President to belong to all Nigerians as stated in his anthem when he assumed the leadership seat and not for a section or a particular tribe of the country.

The Colonel’s letter, however, received condemnation by some Buhari loyalist, this online news platform understands.

Reacting to the statements directed at Dangiwa following the open letter addressed to the President, Sani urged those speaking ill of the ex-military Governor to dig well into history before spewing words.

Sani alleged that President Buhari after his tenure expiration in 2023 will meet the ex-governor at Sultan Bello Mosque in Kaduna.

The former senator tweeted, “Col Abubakar Dangiwa Umar, rtd, raised a mirror with one hand and a flag with the other,”

“Those who neither knew the history of Baba nor that of Dangiwa have started throwing spears and shooting arrows at Dangiwa.

“After 2023, one Friday, Baba[Buhari] will meet Dangiwa at Sultan Bello Mosque in Kaduna.”

Meanwhile, a former presidential aspirant under the All Progressives Congress, APC platform, SKC Ogbonnia, has in a recent statement he solely signed condemned Nigerian leaders over patronage of foreign-made products while the same could be purchased locally.
