Edo 2020: I Am Not Aware Of Obaseki’s Wish For Indirect Primary, says Oshiomhole

The feud between Godwin Obaseki, Oshiomhole and the interest of Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu has created more political tension for over a year on whom will lead the Edo State for the next four years even as the ruling political party agrees on which model of the primary election to adopt.

As the All progressive congress party prepares to pick its party governorship candidate and flag-bearer, the National Chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole has expressed the National working committee’s decision on which mode of the primary election to adopt.

Naija new learnt that Oshiomole insisted on direct primaries. However, the feud between Godwin Obaseki, Oshiomhole and the interest of Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu have created more political tension for over a year on whom will lead the Edo State for the next four years even as the ruling political party agrees on which mode of the primary election to adopt.

Meanwhile, Speaking on why he insisted on Direct primaries, Oshiomhole revealed that he was not aware of his erstwhile God Son’s( Godwin Obaseki) preference for indirect primary.

He added that there has not been any letter submitted by Mr Obaseki to protest the APC NWC decision.

“Obaseki is not here but issues of primaries are well spelt out in our constitution and we are following it as strictly as possible. So, nothing to worry about at all.

“You are speculating (on Obaseki’s rejection of direct primaries), I don’t have any letter or document to that effect. These are very formal matters. Stop spreading (speculations?),” Mr Oshiomhole told the journalists in company of the party governors.
