Breaking: Buhari Makes Fresh Appointments

President Muhammadu Buhari has sent the name of Dr. Tella Adeniran Rahamon to the Senate for confirmation as the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in charge of Osun State.

The President’s letter was read during Tuesday plenary by the Senate President, Dr. Ahmad Lawan.

Buhari also requested the Senate to consider the nomination of James Jiya Kolo to replace Mr. Daniel James Kolo, a Federal Character Commission (FCC) Commissioner nominee representing Kwara state who died recently.

Naija News recalls the late Kolo died Tuesday about two weeks ago at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) after a brief illness.

He hailed from Patigi, Patigi local government area of Kwara state.

Meanwhile, the President’s two requests have been referred to the relevant committees of the Senate for further legislative action.
