Manchester United has reached an agreement with former Super Eagles striker, Odion Ighalo for a contract extension to his current loan deal.

Naija News can confirm the on-loan forward has agreed to extend his current deal which will keep him at Old Trafford until January 2021.

There had been earlier concerns about the player’s future at United but all that has now been put to rest as United announced a breakthrough in negotiations on Monday.

Ighalo arrived from Chinese Super League club Shanghai Shenhua on a six-month loan deal on the final day of the January transfer window, to provide Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with cover for the injured Marcus Rashford who was sidelined with a back issue.

He made eight appearances for the club and scored four goals before the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak forced the football season to shut down.

The Nigerian player is now set to remain in England until next year.

Meanwhile, as previously reported by Naija News, the English Premier League board has announced that the 2019/2020 season matches will restart on 17th of June 2020.
