Gunmen Attack Customs Officers Near Navy Base In Abia

An All Progressive Congress (APC) chairman in Katsina State has been laid to rest yesterday after he was gunned down by a yet to be identified group of armed men whom he struggled with to escape been kidnapped, Naija News learnt.

According to the report disclosed to newsmen by the State Police Command via its spokesperson, SP Gambo Isah, the deceased, Alhaji Abdulhamid Sani was attacked at his residence on Sunday, May 31 at Sabon-Garin Dumburawa, a community in the Batsari Local Government Area of the state.

Giving an update on the incident, Gambo said, “Today at about 1:35 p.m., unknown gunmen attacked Sabon-Garin Dumburawa in Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State.

“During the unfortunate incident, the bandits shot sporadically with sophisticated weapons, and killed the 55-year-old APC Chairman in Batsari local Government Area after he resisted being kidnapped.”

The Police Command, however, revealed that men of the Operation Puff Adder and Sharan Daji have been deployed into the community and its environs to ensure their arrest.

Naija News understands that scores of death have been recorded in Katsina State in the recent as a result of activities of bandits, cattle rustlers and kidnappers.
