Just In: Buhari Appoints New Appeal Court President

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Justice M.B. Dongban-Mensem, as the Acting President of the Court of Appeal (PCA).

Naija News reports that the appointment was made known in a statement on Friday by Buhari’s Media Assistant, Garba Shehu.

Dongban-Mensem appointment would take effect from June 3, 2020, and is for a further period of three months.

“This is pursuant to Section 238(4) and (5) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended),” the statement added.

Recall that Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa was before her retirement the former President of the Appeal Court.
