Twenty-eight corpers among the 2019 Batch B Stream 1 deployed to Ogun State have been sanctioned by the National Youth Service Corps with an extension and remobilization of service.

The Ogun State NYSC Coordinator, Belinda Faniyi, revealed this on Thursday during the passing-out event in Abeokuta, the state capital.

She further stated that the scheme has discharged 4250 corpers after observing their one-year obligatory national service in the state.

Faniyi said, “Some of the corps members definitely will have their service extended and some depending on the severity of their cases.”

“Some of them for remobilisation, maybe because they were not at their places of primary assignments for three months. That is abscondment.”

The Ogun State NYSC Coordinator added that discharged members who could not pick up their certificates could do so after the ban on interstate movement was lifted.

“We have told them that those who cannot make it, after the COVID-19 pandemic they can always pick their certificates of national service,” she added.
