Three security personnel in Kenya have incurred injuries on themselves after one mistaken the other two as terrorists while carrying out their duty.

Naija News understands that two military personnel of the Kenya Defence Forces, KDF, were shot by a Police officer attached to Bura community, a town in Kenya after he mistook them for an enemy.

It was, however, reported that the two soldiers, SP David Mbugua and Jeremy Malusi retaliate to the shooting by Constable Emmanuel Ngao and left him also in pains with bullets.

Naija News learnt that the drama started after the two soldiers who were on patrol stopped the police officer, their action, however, resulted in an argument which leads to the unforeseen incident.

Speaking on the incident, George Sangalo who is the head in the Fafi sub-county police chapter, revealed that the trio has all been conveyed to the nearby hospital for proper medical care as they all are in critical condition.

A report from the police command reads; “Constable Emmanuel Ngao was challenged by KDF soldiers, Senior Private Jeremy Malusi and David Mbugua. He mistook the officers to be militants, he shot and seriously injured them. The soldiers fired back and the policeman was injured on his leg.

“The three officers sustained gunshot injuries and were taken to Bura East Sub-County Hospital and are in critical condition.”

On his part, the Garisa police commander noted that further details would be unveiled after the command is done with the investigation on the incident.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Military has recorded another victory in its continued onslaught against armed banditry and other forms of insurgency in the country.

The latest victory was recorded in an airstrike that resulted in the death of 30 bandits while also destroying their logistics store.
