Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq-led government has revealed that Kwara State has recorded six new cases of Coronavirus, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 85.

The new cases were confirmed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor and Spokesman for the State’s Technical Committee on COVID-19, Mr Rafiu Ajakaye, in a statement on Thursday in Ilorin.

Ajakaye noted that out of the 1,224 tests carried out in the state, 1,083 tested negative for the Coronavirus, while 50 are active out of the 85 confirmed cases.

The Spokesperson further stated that 34 patients have been discharged and one death recorded in the state.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, on Wednesday night confirmed three hundred and eighty-nine new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria.

The new update by the NCDC on Wednesday, May 27 brings the total cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria to 8733.
