Imo: Police Arrest Robbery Suspect, Recover Gun

The Imo State Police Command has arrested a 27-year-old armed robbery suspect identified as Maduabuchi Duru.

Duru was apprehended on May 25, at Ubomiri in the Mbaitoli Local Government Area of the state in possession of a locally-made pistol.

The spokesperson of the command, Orlando Ikeokwu, while speaking on the arrest noted that the 27-year-old suspect was arrested by the operatives of the Special Anti- Robbery Squad.

He said, “On May 25, operatives of the command’s Special Anti-robbery squad based on credible intelligence arrested the suspect while trying to rob one Edith Blossom “F” of her personal belongings at Ubomiri.”

“He was arrested in possession of a locally made Pistol.

“He has confessed to the crime and other crimes within and around the area. The investigation is at an advanced stage. He will be charged to court accordingly.”
