Senegal: President’s Brother Tests Positive For COVID-19

Aliou Sarr, the young sibling to Macky Sall, Senegal President in a statement made available to the media confirmed that he has tested positive for COVID-19 infection.

Naija News understands that Aliou who is the mayor of Guédiawaye revealed in the statement which was dated May 26, that he is currently been treated of the novel virus at the Dalal Diamm hospital in Dakar.

Aliou’s statement reads: “Dear compatriots, Dear fellow mayors, Dear colleagues of the COVID follow-up committee, friends and relatives when I send you this message I am in Dalal Diam hospital where I have just been interned. I have undergone, in fact, a positive COVID income test this Tuesday, May 26, 2020. I ask your prayers to Allah SWT for a speedy recovery of all patients of the COVID. I thank the team of Dalal Diam Hospital for their thoroughness and professionalism.”

Meanwhile, Senegal as at the moment of filing this report has 3,161 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 36 persons confirmed dead.
