COVID-19: WHO Release Update On Confirmed Cases, Deaths, Recoveries In Africa
The regional office of the World Health Organization in Brazzaville, Congo, has revealed that the number of confirmed cases in the continent in the past 24 hours.
WHO noted that the number of confirmed cases in the continent has risen to over 118,000 in the past 24 hours.
The development was announced by the UN health agency on its official Twitter account on Wednesday.
According to the post, the outbreak of Coronavirus in Africa has led to the death of 3,500, while 48,000 people have recovered from the virus.
“Over 118,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases on the African continent – with more than 48,000 recoveries & 3,500 deaths,” it said.
The WHO African Region COVID-19 dashboard showed that South Africa, Egypt, Algeria, Nigeria, and Morocco, have continued to top the list of countries with the highest reported coronavirus cases.
