Another Kano Traditional Ruler Dies At 89
The death has been reported in Kano State of Dr. Wada Ibrahim Waziri, the Sa’in Bichi, Hakimin Dambatta who died on Wednesday at the age of 89.
Naija News understands the prominent monarch passed away after a protracted illness linked with old age.
The late traditional ruler who was at one time the District Head of Makoda was born into a royal family and had his education early in Kano Middle School in the 1950s.
Late Wada Waziri was a veteran nursing officer who became popular under the AVM Hamza Abdullahi regime in 1984 when he served as head of operation of the then Kano State Environmental Sanitation Agency, popularly known as Ruwa-Ruwa.
When he retired from active civil service duties, the late monarch got involved in active politics.
It will be recalled that some prominent traditional rulers have died recently in Kano State, including the Emir of Rano, Alhaji Tafida Abubakar Ila II who died at a hospital in Kano at the age of 74.
Rano Emirate Council is one of the four newly created emirates in Kano state, northern Nigeria.
