COVID-19: Schools Remain Closed Until Vaccine Is Found – Rodrigo

Philippine President, Rodrigo Duterte has described the reopening of schools at this moment when the pandemic is getting worst as a call for disaster, adding that such an attempt is useless.

Rodrigo on Monday announced that schools in the country remain shut down until a vaccine is found for the dreadful coronavirus pandemic.

The president during a television interview on Monday night said, “sending children to school without a vaccine ‘spells disaster’.

He added, “I will not allow the opening of classes where students will be near each other. Unless I am sure that they are really safe, it’s useless to be talking about the opening of classes,”

Meanwhile, about two months ago, President Rodrigo called on law enforcement to kill anyone causing “trouble” in areas under containment due to the coronavirus pandemic, Naija News recalls.

As at yesterday, reports revealed by the Philippines’s Department of Health confirmed cases of Coronavirus recorded in the country to be 14,319, while 873 persons reported dead.
