President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday celebrated the Eid-el-Fitr with his family members at the Presidential Villa.

Naija News reports that President Buhari usually travels to his hometown in Daura, Katsina State, during the Eid celebrations but he had to stay back this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

2. Nigerian Troops kill Boko Haram/ISWAP Terrorists In Borno

Several members of Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorist group in Borno State have been killed by troops of Operation LAFIYA DOLE.

This was made known in a statement on Saturday by the Coordinator, Defence Media Operations, Maj.-Gen. John Enenche.

3. Ortom Speaks On Plot To Dump PDP For APC

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State debunked reports that he was plotting to dump the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Naija News gathered that reports had emerged alleging that former Governor, Gabriel Suswan, in a meeting with Ortom and others in attendance resolved that he and the State Governor should move to the opposition APC to join another former governor and Minister of Special Duties and Inter-governmental Affairs, George Akume.

Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, has reacted to the death of the Commissioner for Environment in the state, Solomon Ogunji, who reportedly gave up the ghost on Saturday, May 23, 2020.

The commissioner as disclosed in a statement made available to newsmen by the state Commissioner for Information, John Okiyi Kalu, had died at the Abia State University Teaching Hospital in Aba.

National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus, urged those in leadership positions to commit themselves to transparency and urged Nigerians to seek God’s remedy for failed leadership.

8. COVID-19: Premier League Confirms Two New Coronavirus Cases

Two more people have tested positive for the deadly coronavirus (COVID-19) from two clubs, the English Premier League (EPL) has announced.

In a statement on Saturday, the EPL revealed that the positive cases emerged after the second batch of testing.
