IG Of Police Congratulates Muslims, Warn Against Religious Gatherings

The Inspector General of Police, IGP Mohammed Adamu congratulated all faithful Muslims in the country as they celebrate the 2020 Eid-El Fitri.

The IG in a statement made available to newsmen on Friday, May 22 by the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), DCP Frank Mba, boast of the force’s commitment in ensuring security of lives of citizens during and after the festival.

He, however, warned that no religious gathering is allowed at this moment until the Coronavirus disease subsides in the country.

Mba noted in the statement that “a proactive and robust anti-crime measures, including the deployments of tactical and intelligence assets of the Force were already in place.”

He expressed confidence Nigeria will soon come out victorious from the battle against the pandemic, urging citizens to, however, adhere to preventive regulations made known by the government and health agencies.
