Governor Rotimi Akeredolu has ordered the reopening of all major and community markets in Ondo State on Saturday, May 23, 2020, for the celebration of Eid-el-Fitr.

The governor gave this directive in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Olusegun Ajiboye on Friday.

Governor Akeredolu gave the directive to enable Muslims to engage in shopping activities ahead of the Eid-el-Fitr festivities.

“Meanwhile, it must be noted that the earlier order restricting business and market activities to Tuesdays and Thursdays in the State resume immediately after tomorrow,” the statement added.

Naija News recalls that Governor Akeredolu had earlier banned daily market activities in the State in a bid to curb the spread of the deadly coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
