BREAKING: Tribunal Affirms Abiodun As Duly Elected Ogun Governor

Governor Dapo Abiodun has again extended the lockdown in Ogun State for one week in a bid to curb the spread of the deadly coronavirus (COVID-19).

Governor Abiodun made this known while speaking to newsmen on Friday at the State’s Government House.

While giving updates on coronavirus in the state, the Ogun State governor said he was “constrained to painfully extend the current ease of lockdown in Ogun for another one week.”

Dapo Abiodun, who disclosed that the state recorded 49 new cases in the outgoing week, revealed that 25 cases were recorded in a single day.

On the new lockdown measures, the Ogun governor said residents will be allowed to go out between the hours of 7 am and 5 pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Dapo Abiodun stated that the current lockdown will end on May 31, while the second phase would begin on June 1.

Naija News recalls that the Ogun State Governor had last week extended the lockdown in the state.

The extended lockdown was supposed to end on Sunday, May 24, 2020.

Giving reasons for the last extension, Governor Abiodun accused Ogun residents of not complying with safety regulations.

He also stated that the community spread of the virus was another reason for extending the lockdown.
