The Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Akin Abayomi in a series of tweet on his official microblogging site account on Sunday morning confirmed that three Dubai returnees have tested positive for Coronavirus disease in the state.

It could be recalled that over two hundred Nigerians who had gone to Dubai for greener pasture were repatriated to Nigeria as many of them were stranded amidst the coronavirus pandemic, Naija News reports.

However, Professor Abayomi disclosed today that 3 out of the 256 returnees have tested positive for COVID-19 in Lagos State.

He tweeted, “3 of the returnees recently evacuated from Dubai have tested positive for #COVID19 infection following #COVID19 test conducted on them. Those affected have been admitted to @followlasg #COVID19 care centre for appropriate treatment protocols.”

“@followlasg and @LSMOH will continue to adhere strictly to quarantine protocols and enforce necessary precautionary measures so as to contain the spread of #COVID19 infection.”

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, on Saturday reported one hundred and seventy-six confirmed new cases of Coronavirus in the country.
