Nigeria Records 176 New Cases Of COVID-19

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, has reported one hundred and seventy-six (176) confirmed new cases of Coronavirus in the country.

This brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Nigeria to 5621.

Buhari Receives Madagascar Cure For Coronavirus, Makes Vow

President Muhammadu Buhari has received Madagascar cure prepared for the treatment of the Coronavirus patients.

Naija News reports that President Buhari received the Madagascan native formulation against the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic on Saturday at the State House in Abuja, a statement issued by Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity revealed.

The statement which was published on the micro-blogging site, Twitter, said President Buhari reiterated that he will listen to science before allowing traditional or any new medicines to be administered on Nigerians.

24 Medical Officers Contract Coronavirus In Bauchi

No fewer than twenty-four medical officers have contracted Coronavirus in Bauchi.

Naija News reports that the Executive Chairman of Bauchi State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (BASPHCDA), Dr Rilwanu Mohammed confirmed that 24 medical officers in the state tested positive to coronavirus disease in a statement on Saturday.

The BASPHCDA Chairman who made the disclosure at a news conference in Bauchi, however, said no death had been recorded among the affected medical workers.

Mohammed added that 17 of the affected medical officers are from Azare, the headquarters of Katagum Local Government Area of the state while seven are from Bauchi Local Government Area.

Lagos Discharges 67 Coronavirus Patients, Total Now 608

The Lagos State Government led by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has announced the discharge of sixty-seven coronavirus patients after testing negative twice for the virus, bringing the number of discharged COVID-19 patients in Lagos to 608.

Naija News reports that the Lagos State Governor disclose this in a statement on Saturday, adding that the 67 COVID-19 patients were discharged from four isolation centres after testing negative twice for the virus.

According to the statement, “67 fully recovered COVID19Lagos patients; 22 females and 45 males including 3 foreign nationals – 2 Indians and a Chinese were discharged to join the society,” Sanwo-Olu said

“The patients; 24 from the Mainland Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba, 22 from Onikan, 11 from Agidingbi, 2 from Lekki and 8 from Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) Isolation Centres were discharged having tested negative to COVID19 in two consecutive readings.”
