Buhari Reappoints Akabueze DG Budget Office

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the reappointment of Mr Benjamin Akabueze as Director-General (DG) of the Budget Office of the Federation.

The appointment was made known in a statement by the Federal Ministry of Finance.

According to the Ministry,  Akabueze is carrying out reforms in the Budget Office “towards improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the Budget office of the Federation.”

Akabueze’s tenure was renewed “for another term in order to institutionalise the achievements for a sustainable improvement in the Budget Office of the Federation.”

Naija News reports Akabueze was first appointed as a Special Adviser Planning (SAP) to Buhari on February 15th, 2016 and later re-deployed and appointed as DG Budget, June 10th, 2016.

The DG’s tenure was supposed to expire on June 10th, 2020.
