Coronavirus: NCDC Confirms 138 New COVID-19 Cases In Nigeria

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has said it would not reveal the Coronavirus test results of the Dubai, UK and US returnees.

This was made known by the NCDC Director-General, Dr Chikwe Ihekweazu during the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 Thursday’s press briefing in Abuja.

The NCDC DG who stated that the returnees are still undergoing the stipulated 14days of self-isolation added that the results will only be shared with them.

He said: “We are doing the test, even when the tests are out we are not going to offer it to you. We will offer it to the returnees. If they are patients we will manage that.

“We are not going to make public the results whether you just came back from Dubai or you are living in Nigeria. Results are meant for patients who got tested.”

Naija News reports that the NCDC on Thursday, May 14 reported 193 confirmed new cases of Coronavirus in the country.

This brings the overall confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria to 5162, with one thousand one hundred and eighty people discharged of the dreadful virus, while one hundred and sixty-seven died.
