Ikenne Isolation Centre announced that it has freed an Administrative Staff of the Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta, who had tested positive for COVID-19 disease a week ago.

The development was confirmed in a statement by the hospital’s spokesman, Segun Orisajo who noted that the patient was let go after testing negative twice to the virus.

Naija News reported a few days ago that three health workers suspected to have had contact with a pregnant woman who died of COVID-19 convolution in Ogun State have tested positive for Coronavirus.

However, Orisajo in his statement on Wednesday, May 13 told newsmen that “as at this period, the results of the samples of the nurse are also being awaited; the nurse is in high spirits.”

On his part, Professor Adewale Musa-Olomu, the Medical Director of the Abeokuta Federal Medical Centre, has described the development as relieving.

He said, “This is cheery news to me. This is an answer to our prayers. I am very optimistic that the remaining staff over there will soon be discharged.”
