President Muhammadu Buhari has promised Nigerians that he’s working effortlessly towards the security and peace of the nation.

The President made this claim during his meeting with members of the National Security Council (NSC) on Thursday.

The National Security Adviser, Major General Babagana Monguno (Rtd.), while speaking with State House correspondents after the meeting, noted that he briefed the Council on the challenges facing the country.

Monguno said: “Arising from this meeting, I will like to assure all Nigerians that Mr President is fully on board, he is committed to doing whatever is necessary to reduce the spate of violence and insecurity in the country.”

“He is also committed to spending whatever resources he has at his disposal to bring to a quick end to all the issues affecting Nigerians and bringing a lot of sorrows to Nigerians. That is the most important takeaway from today’s meeting.”

In attendance were Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha.

Others are security and Service Chiefs, as well as some cabinet members, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama.

Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami and the Minister of Internal Affairs, Rauf Aregbesola also attended.
