1. Supreme Court Verdict: Orji Kalu Still In Kuje Correctional Facility

Days after the Supreme Court ordered the retrial of Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, it seems he is still in the custody of the Nigerian Prison Service.

Naija News learnt that the former governor of Abia state was denied bail by Comptroller-General of the service, Mr. Jaafar Ahmed.

2. FEC: Buhari To Host First Virtual Conference Meeting On Wednesday

In a bid to curb the spread of COVID-19 in Nigeria and continue the task of nation-building, President Muhammadu Buhari will be hosting a first virtual Federal Executive Council, FEC meeting on Wednesday.

The Lagos State Government led by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has announced the discharge of thirty-three coronavirus patients from Onikan and Eti-Osa(Landmark) Isolation centre.

4. Ondo Govt Announces Death Of One Coronavirus Patient

The Ondo State Government has announced the death of one coronavirus patient in the state.

The development was revealed by the Commissioner for Health in the state, Dr Wahab Adegbenro, while briefing newsmen, he noted that the death was the first in the state.

5. NCC Reveals Truth On Activating 5G Network In Lagos

The Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, has in a statement by its Executive Vice Chairman, Professor Umar Garba Danbatta, debunked the rumoured news that it has allowed the installation and activation of the Fifth Generation Network, better referred to as 5G in Nigeria.

The NCC in the statement which was made available to newsmen on Monday, May 11, noted that the report which claimed that the Nigerian telecommunications industry has set to switch to the 5G network was a purported lie from some “faceless individuals or groups cannot be further from the truth.”

Indications have emerged that Nigeria will receive the herbal concoction touted as a ‘cure’ for coronavirus infection from Madagascar.

The East African country has offered its herbal remedy ‘cure’ for the novel infection, to Nigeria and other African countries.

8. Coronavirus: Ogun Records 1 New Death, Confirms 2 New Cases

Governor Dapo Abiodun-led government has disclosed the number of Coronavirus death recorded in the state. The Ogun State government noted that the number has increased to 5.

This is coming after the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, announced 2 new cases of the COVID-19 in the state.

9. 17 Killed In A Gun Duel Between Troops And Bandits In Kaduna

The Coordinator of Defence Media Operations, Major General John Enenche has confirmed that not less than seventeen bandits have been killed in a recent operation by the troops of the Nigerian Army in Kaduna State.

The General disclosed on Sunday, May 10, that the bandits were killed in their hideouts in Kaduna State, noting that though some of them escaped the attack with bullet wounds.

10. Coronavirus: Governors Playing Politics With Almajiri – Ganduje

The Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, has accused other governors in the Northern region of Nigeria of playing politics with the evacuation of Almajiri and their Coronavirus status.

Over the week, there had been reports of some Almajiris testing positive to Coronavirus upon arrival in their states of origin.
