Supreme Court Verdict: Orji Kalu Still In Kuje Correctional Facility

seven two hours after alleged freedom from the federal government correctional service, Nigerian Senate’s Chief Whip, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu seems to still be in the custody of Nigerian prison service.

Naija News learnt that the former governor of Abia state was denied bail by Comptroller-General of Nigeria Correctional Service Mr. Jaafar Ahmed.

A former Governor of Abia State, Mr. Orji Uzor Kalu has remained in Kuje because the judgment did not issue any order for his release as he did not file any application for such.

The judgment only covers the Appellant, Mr. Ude Jones Udeogu, who challenged the propriety of a Court of Appeal Judge, Justice Mohammed Idris to try him.

Naija news learnt Kalu may have to approach the Court of Appeal, where he has a pending matter, to ask for his release following the dismissal of the judgement of the Federal High Court, Lagos by the Supreme Court.
