Nigerian Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, has paid tribute to a former lawmaker who represented Adamawa North Senatorial District, Senator Paul Wampana who reportedly gave up the ghost a few hours ago at his apartment in Abuja.

Naija News received that the chieftain of the Nigerian opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) died on May 11 while resting in his house.

On his part, Lawan expressed his condolence to the family of the deceased and to the entire Adamawa State government.

The Senate president in a statement via his spokesperson, Ola Awoniyi, paid tributes to families, friends and political associates of Wampana, noting that the late Senator has contributed greatly to the political development of Nigeria.

Lawan commended the deceased participation in the Nigerian politics, from his position as a Speaker of the defunct Gongola State House of Assembly to a Senator who represented Adamawa North Senatorial District and thereafter as a Minister of State for Public Health during the Second Republic.

Lawan, however, prayed that HLawan said the former lawmaker will, no doubt, be missed by Nigerians.

The Senate President prayed that the deceased rest in peace, adding that his presence will be greatly missed.

In another report earlier, one of the commissioners swears in by Governor Darius Ishaku of Taraba State in December 2019, Naphtali Agbu Kefas has died.
