Coronavirus: Ogun Records 1 New Death, Confirms 2 New Cases

Governor Dapo Abiodun-led government has disclosed the number of Coronavirus death recorded in the state. The Ogun State government noted that the number has increased to 5.

This is coming after the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, announced 2 new cases of the COVID-19 in the state.

The state government while speaking on the development revealed that the total number of confirmed cases so far in the state is now 117.

The Ministry of Health in the state, announced that a total of 35 patients, who tested negative to the virus twice, had been discharged to rejoin their families.

Currently, there are 77 active cases being handled in the treatment and isolation centres set up across the state, as the state ministry continues contact tracing, in order to curb community spread of the coronavirus.”

“The state has recorded a total of 5 COVID-19 related deaths.”

“The general public is advised to keep maintaining social distancing as the use of face masks alone may not avert the risk of infection,” the state government said, in a statement by the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Dapo Abiodun on New Media, Emmanuel Ojo.
