Kano Loses Another Traditional Ruler

The death has been announced of Alhaji Yusuf Bayero, the Dan’iya of Kano.

He was the district head of Dawakin Kudu Local Government Area.

Naija News understands Bayero was the first district head Ajingi Local Government Area in the history of Kano state.

Meanwhile, Kano State in the past few weeks has witnessed an increasing rate of deaths since the outbreak of Coronavirus pandemic in the state.

The government initially maintained that the mysterious deaths were not related to COVID-19 but were as a result of chronic malaria and cerebrospinal meningitis (CSM).

However, the government later acknowledged that some of the deaths were caused by COVID-19 related diseases.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, on Saturday night confirmed Two-hundred-and-thirty-nine (239) new cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Nigeria.

This brings the figures of the pandemic to a total of 4151 in Nigeria.

Of the figures announced on Saturday, Kano recorded 29 new cases.
